In October 2025, Mr. Arti Hilpus was appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia, based in Vienna, with responsibility for Slovakia and Switzerland. He is continuator to Mrs. Merle Pajula, who previously served as Estonia’s Ambassador to Slovakia and was likewise based in Vienna.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Hilpus held the position of Director of the Arms Control Division at the NATO and Transatlantic Relations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.
He is a highly experienced diplomat with a distinguished career in international relations, having held senior ambassadorial and diplomatic roles in several countries.
